Did not targeting opposition figures exclude Moussaoui from talks
The article addresses the absence of the head of the Algerian External Intelligence Agency, General Rachidi Moussaoui, from the security meeting held in Paris in early June 2026 between French and Algerian security officials. The sensitive security files, particularly those related to Algerian intelligence activities in France, were the main focus of discussion. His absence is likely indicative of escalating tensions and ongoing controversy surrounding secret Algerian operations in French territory, amid accusations that Algerian agencies are attempting to monitor Algerian dissidents residing in France. This situation reflects a continuing crisis of trust in the security relations between the two countries.
