Moroccan Lawyers Announce Full Strike
Moroccan courts have begun a nationwide strike lasting one week, starting June 15, 2026, initiated by Moroccan lawyers in protest against the draft professional regulation law they are preparing, which they see as a threat to their professional gains and the stature of the legal profession. This strike is a response to statements made by the Minister of Justice, and the Bar Association has called for safeguarding the Lawyers’ Mutual Aid Institution and clarifying its position to the government and the public. The move comes amid anticipation of inquiries and potential impacts on judicial proceedings.
