FIFA Recognizes Somali Referee Artan After US Entry Denial
The International Football Association (FIFA) has decided to pay all financial dues to Somali referee Omar Abdulqadir Artan for his participation in the 2026 World Cup, despite being barred from entering the United States, which he intended to work in. He was deported upon arrival at Miami Airport. Nevertheless, FIFA assured that the referee will receive his full salary according to the competition unit, with final compensation calculated based on the number of matches and tasks assigned to him after the tournament concludes.
