Advisory Council Cultural Committee Approves Press Law
The Education, Cultural, and Social Affairs Committee of the Council of Advisors approved Draft Law No. 09.26 regarding the reorganization of the National Press Council, by majority vote, in order to accelerate the adoption of the legal text, which is considered a crucial step to overcome the current situation of the press and publishing sector. The approval came after detailed discussions on the draft law, despite some members expressing opposition and others abstaining from voting. The legislative process is now expected to resume after the bill is returned from the Constitutional Court for the necessary amendments.
