Municipal Councils' Expanded Powers

The announcement of the preliminary lists of candidates for the municipal council elections in Amman indicates that authorities continue the election process and are in the process of setting a deadline for objections to the lists. The goal is to strengthen the role of municipal councils and expand their powers. These measures are part of efforts to develop local institutions and support community participation, with an emphasis on improving performance and achieving coordination between councils and governors.
