US plans to release one-third of heating reserves

The U.S. Department of Energy announced that it will lend up to 315,000 barrels of heating oil from emergency reserves. This amount is equivalent to about one-third of the total reserve of one million barrels, in order to help contain rising prices and meet demand during the heating season.
