Democracy Advances with Legislative Elections
A widespread Israeli bombardment in Gaza resulted in the death of six people and injuries to others, amid targeted attacks against Palestinian leaders and armed clashes, in a provocative escalation that is reshaping the regional landscape. Hamas has called on mediators to exert pressure to compel the occupation to halt violations and end the escalation, while the Palestinian Authority emphasizes that legislative elections will take place as scheduled. Additionally, areas in Jerusalem and the occupied territories have been subjected to assaults, amid increasing Iranian movements against the United States and the Strait of Hormuz, in the context of ongoing regional tensions.
