Patients' Rafah crossing canceled again
The Palestinian Medical Transfers Committee confirmed the cancellation of patient travel through the Rafah border crossing in southern Gaza due to the lack of necessary coordination. This has led to delays in treatment convoys, longer waiting lists, and increased suffering for patients and their families. The committee explained that this cancellation is beyond their control and is due to the absence of security coordination. They called on the international community and UN organizations to intervene to increase the number of people permitted to travel and to reduce waiting times. Since the border was reopened somewhat in February 2024, and in accordance with the ceasefire agreement in October 2025, travel movement remains limited. Meanwhile, the sector continues to face a severe humanitarian crisis amid ongoing Israeli aggression, which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of martyrs and injured, with many victims still unreachable under the rubble.
