Member of the Central Committee of Fatah, Jibril Rajoub, emphasized the likelihood that the Palestinian legislative elections will not take place in November as scheduled. He warned that postponing them could deepen the political crisis and pose existential threats to the Palestinian political system. He called for a meeting involving the Palestinian leadership, factions, and civil society organizations to develop a plan to protect the national project, stressing the importance of renewing the regime's legitimacy, reforming institutions, and holding comprehensive elections. This comes amid a lack of regional interest and setbacks in national unity, which should be based on pluralism and democracy. He also reaffirmed that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) remains the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
