The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has warned of a serious deterioration in the conditions of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces and settlers have killed more than 1,100 Palestinians from October 2023 to July 2024. It affirmed that forced displacement and the expansion of settlements pose real risks of ethnic cleansing, while Israeli policies aimed at consolidating land annexation and separating Palestinian areas continue, in violation of international law and human rights. The High Commissioner also emphasized the need for international action to halt these violations, condemning the rising assaults and supporting settlement plans that threaten the unity of Palestinian territories and the future of the Palestinian state.
