Global Hot Air Balloon Event Starts in Wadi Rum
An international hot air balloon and aerial sports event was held in Wadi Rum, featuring free skydiving from balloons and participation from 16 professionals from Europe. The event aims to enhance the region's status as a global destination for desert tourism and adventure sports. It includes balloon jumps, paragliding, and photographic documentation, contributing to diversifying the tourism offerings and attracting international visitors. This event is part of a plan to increase the number of balloons and transform Wadi Rum into a major hub for aerial tourism, with preparations underway for a global hot air balloon festival in summer 2027 that will create over 70 local job opportunities.
