Rabah Laraia: Cairo to host upcoming national dialogue
Currently, preparations are underway for a Palestinian national dialogue in Cairo aimed at ending internal division, strengthening political partnership, and conducting comprehensive elections for the Palestinian National Council with the participation of all factions, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad. This dialogue comes amid worsening humanitarian and security conditions, along with escalating Israeli attacks on Palestinian territories. There is a pressing need to unite ranks to confront these challenges and reach a national consensus on the elections, which are scheduled to take place on a date that will be determined during the talks. The meetings are expected to begin soon, under Egyptian sponsorship, to ensure the seriousness of the understandings. Organizing the elections is seen as one of the tools for rebuilding Palestinian institutions.
