Peace Council statement distorts facts
A large number of Palestinians in Gaza have been killed and injured during a comprehensive Israeli escalation. Airstrikes and shelling have resulted in at least 33 deaths and over 80 injuries, as the occupation continues targeting homes and infrastructure. Reports indicate that the occupation is attempting to impose a new blockade on hospitals and there are threats of military escalation. Meanwhile, international calls are growing to stop the escalation and halt the assault on civilians. The humanitarian situation is deteriorating, with hundreds of buildings at risk of collapse and severe shortages of medical supplies and essential materials.
