Flydubai co-pilot's terrorist plan targeting Ben Gurion
The UAE Public Prosecution announced that the flight operated by Flydubai, Flight FZ1073, traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30, 2026, was targeted by a terrorist plot carried out by an Oman national (29 years old). The accused, who had been influenced by extremism and terrorism since 2017 during his studies in Australia, attempted to carry out an attack using the emergency axe during the flight, aiming to cause significant casualties at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. However, he was apprehended after resisting the crew and passengers, and the plane was diverted to Tulkarm Airport in Saudi Arabia, where he was detained and questioned. Investigations revealed that the suspect exploited his professional experience and airport reconnaissance to prepare his plan. According to the investigations, he carried out these operations alone, without the involvement of others.
