Fly Dubai pilot recounts attack with emergency axe
The pilot of a Fly Dubai aircraft, named Matshar, thwarted an attack by the co-pilot who was attempting to take control of the plane using an emergency axe in an attempt to carry out a suicide operation at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv last month. During the attack, he was injured, but he and his colleagues succeeded in overpowering the attacker, leading to a safe landing of the plane in Saudi Arabia. The Emirati Attorney General confirmed that the attacker, an Omani citizen, was inspired by the September 11 attacks, and he has been transferred to the UAE for questioning.
