Gaza Winter Crisis Looms
At least nine Palestinians were killed and others injured in Israeli airstrikes, shelling and gunfire in various parts of the Gaza Strip since dawn on Sunday. Five deaths were reported in Khan Younis, three in Gaza City, and one Palestinian died of his wounds in Deir al-Balah. Palestinian organizations and the United Nations warned that the humanitarian crisis could worsen as winter approaches. Around 7,800 tents are in areas vulnerable to flooding, while Gaza needs 200,000 new tents amid shortages of equipment and fuel and restrictions on the entry of aid.
