Tankers burn, ships held
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, that four oil tankers had been destroyed after hitting naval mines while attempting to cross a route south of the Strait of Hormuz that it described as prohibited. It said the vessels were still ablaze. The Guard added that it had detained two other ships. No details were provided about the vessels or their crews, and the report offered no independent verification of Iran’s account.
