Early results in the U.S. midterm elections showed Democrats leading in the House of Representatives with 228 seats to the Republicans’ 139, out of 435, as vote counting continued. They also secured a majority in the Senate, winning 54 of its 100 seats. Their gains included winning seats in Texas and Kansas for the first time since 1988 and 1932, respectively. The results pose challenges for Donald Trump’s administration in passing legislation, while Trump warned that he would veto anything that did not have his cooperation.
