Esraa Othman launched “Makkaneh,” a Palestinian workshop that designs and produces educational kits and hands-on learning tools linked to the curriculum and local needs. Its aim is to shift education away from rote instruction toward learning through experience and project-based making. The project runs workshops and programs in robotics, 3D printing, science, design, and recycling. It also works with students, teachers, and educational institutions, including Al-Bireh Municipality, where it established a STEM lab. Makkaneh hopes to reach all Palestinian schools by training teachers in hands-on activities and creating spaces for making and innovation, as well as offering activities for children outside school hours.
