Settlers, backed by settlement organizations, seized eight Palestinian homes in the village of al-Duyuk al-Tahta, west of Jericho, after smashing in their doors and moving furniture inside. They claimed to have bought the homes in secret deals. Residents and foreign solidarity activists were injured in beatings carried out by the settlers, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent. Local sources warned that the takeover threatens Palestinian urban expansion and comes amid a broader escalation that has included vandalism of farms, the uprooting of palm trees, demolition notices and land seizures.
