South Korea's exports in June recorded a new all-time high, exceeding $100 billion for the first time, with a year-on-year increase of 70.9% to reach $102.25 billion. This growth was primarily driven by the semiconductor sector, whose exports surged to $44.82 billion. Imports also rose by 30.1% to $66.1 billion, resulting in a record trade surplus of $36.15 billion, the highest monthly surplus ever. Semiconductor exports nearly doubled, alongside increased exports of computers and mobile devices, as well as higher exports of automobiles, petroleum products, and petrochemicals.
