UNICEF has called for children's rights to be prioritized in AI governance policies, warning that approximately 20 million children are currently using these technologies—more than three times the rate of adults. The organization cautioned that children face long-term impacts from AI technologies and urged for increased research, the development of stricter regulations, and heightened awareness to ensure children's safety in the digital environment. This comes ahead of the first global dialogue on AI governance, which will be held in Geneva in July.
