The Israeli Knesset approved a bill that prohibits the call to prayer (adhan) in the territories of 1948, considering it a violation of freedom of worship and human rights. The head of the Palestinian National Council, Riyad Al-Maliki, described this legislation as both a legislative and racist crime, reflecting the nature of the occupation as an apartheid system and aiming to erase Palestinian identity. Al-Maliki called on the international community to take action to stop these racist policies and hold Israel accountable for its ongoing violations.
