WhatsApp supports tablet accounts without phones
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, announced the launch of the "Independent Mode" feature, which allows Android tablets and iPadOS devices to run their accounts fully and independently from a smartphone. The feature enables users to send and receive messages, create group chats, and communicate with business accounts, with support for encrypted and secure cloud synchronization, as well as direct registration using a phone number on the tablet. This feature empowers users to use WhatsApp on tablets independently, without needing a smartphone. Currently, it is available to beta testers and will soon be accessible to all users.
