UN Warns of Rights Decline in El Obeid
The United Nations has warned of a serious deterioration in human rights conditions in Al-Obeid, Sudan, where residents have been facing siege-like circumstances for nearly 18 months, including water shortages and ongoing drone attacks. The UN reported that 45 civilians have been killed and 41 injured in 15 airstrikes on the city during June, amid ongoing conflicts since April 2023 that have displaced millions of people from the country.
