Ashghal Advances Sustainability with Construction Waste Recycling
Since 2022, the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" has been focusing on enhancing sustainability in its projects by reusing and recycling millions of tons of construction and demolition debris. This contributes to waste reduction and promotes a circular economy. Approximately 2.5 million cubic meters of excavation waste have been redirected to recycling centers, in addition to over 300,000 tons of demolition and construction waste being recycled. Furthermore, 80,000 tons of project wood materials have been repurposed, and tons of plastic, paper, and metal scrap have been sent to recycling facilities. Around 8,000 tons of food waste have been converted into organic compost. These initiatives aim to improve resource efficiency and support the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
