Health Ministry reports 97% food safety compliance
The Ministry of Public Health in Qatar has reported an increase in compliance with food safety requirements during the first half of 2026, reaching 97%. Approximately 7,755 various food samples were examined, including both local and imported goods, and results showed that conformity rates exceeded 98% in most sectors. The ministry confirmed that the surveillance focused on the most commonly consumed products, particularly vegetables and fruits, as well as fish, seafood, meats, and dairy products, with high conformity rates surpassing 93%. These results are attributed to an inspection approach based on risk assessment, early detection of hazards, and standardization of food safety measures, with the ministry continuing to implement a risk monitoring and analysis plan to ensure the provision of safe food to consumers.
