The German Defense Minister confirmed that the country intends to raise its defense spending to approximately 140 billion euros by 2027, representing an increase of about 31.4 billion euros over this year. The funding is divided between a regular budget and a special fund totaling over 60 billion euros for military procurements, aimed at enhancing the army's capabilities and technology, as well as continuously supporting Ukraine. Germany aims to achieve a defense expenditure of 3.5% of its gross domestic product by 2029, with the final budget being discussed and approved in November.
