Food establishment staff certification exam
The Ministry of Public Health has introduced the Food Handler Permit Examination service, aiming to enable workers in the food industry to obtain a permit to practice their profession, whether inside Qatar or abroad. This service is part of the Ministry's efforts to enhance food safety and ensure their basic knowledge of safety requirements. The system was launched as a pilot in 2021 in collaboration with the Qatar Chamber, and was officially inaugurated in 2023 in partnership with the Qatar Tourism Authority. It is planned to be further developed in 2026 to include exams outside Qatar through accredited centers, with the goal of assessing their competence before bringing them into the country, thereby ensuring their adherence to food safety standards.
