China launched two new remote sensing satellites, "Yaogan-53" and "Yaogan-56," today from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center using a Long March-4B rocket, and both successfully entered orbit. These satellites will be used for scientific research, land and resource surveying, crop yield estimation, as well as disaster prevention and mitigation. This launch is the 666th mission in the Long March rocket series and follows a previous launch on August 25 that carried seven satellites from Taiyuan Center.
