Al Hilal and Al Merreikh, the two Sudanese teams, have qualified for the Round of 32 of the CAF Champions League after winning their respective second-leg matches in the preliminary round against Eagle Nwar of Burundi and Power Dynamos of Zambia. Al Hilal secured a 1-0 victory thanks to Ahmed Salim, having previously won the first leg 2-0, thus completing the two-match aggregate with a 3-0 scoreline. Despite reaching the final twice in 1987 and 1992, they now aim to compete for the title. Conversely, Al Merreikh also won their match 1-0 in both legs, with Gil Razafimaro scoring, guaranteeing their qualification with a 2-0 aggregate. They hope to reach the group stage, with their best performance being a semi-final appearance in 2015 and winning the African Cup of Champions Clubs in 1989.
