NASA announced a project called "Artifact InSPECtor" aimed at improving the processing of space telescope data using artificial intelligence, with the goal of supporting studies of the universe and dark energy. The project relies on data from the "Galileo" space telescope and seeks to develop AI tools capable of identifying artifacts caused by light reflections, cosmic ray collisions, or technical factors in the instruments, distinguishing them from real celestial objects. Starting from 2027, the project plans to incorporate data from the "Nancy Grace Roman" space telescope and the European "Euclid" telescope to enhance the accuracy of exploring the universe's expansion and dark energy.
