An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 struck off the coast of the Vanuatu Islands in the Pacific Ocean, at a depth of 135.1 kilometers, approximately 43 kilometers southeast of Port Olry. This follows a 7.4-magnitude earthquake in December last year, which resulted in 14 deaths and the destruction of homes and institutions. This highlights the region's frequent seismic activity due to the interaction of tectonic plates along the Ring of Fire.
