Global Heat Forum launches in Thailand
The first Global Heat Forum launched in Bangkok, Thailand, with the aim of addressing intense heatwaves resulting from the increasing strength of the El Niño phenomenon and climate change. Around 600 experts and organization workers participated in the event, during which tools and recommendations were showcased to protect health and infrastructure from rising temperatures, such as early warning systems and climate-responsive urban planning. These solutions are expected to help safeguard 1.5 billion people and reduce approximately 100,000 deaths annually by 2025.
