Qatar Club sacks Lopez, hires Al-Kubaisi
The article concerns Qatar Club's decision to terminate the contract of their Spanish head coach, Marquez Lopez, following poor results at the start of the league. He did not achieve any wins in the first five rounds, only collecting two draws and three losses, which placed the team second from the bottom with just two points. The decision to part ways was made amicably, and Rashid Al-Kubaisi has been appointed as the new coach for the upcoming period, with the aim of restoring balance and improving results in future matches. Lopez’s previous season with the club had been successful, finishing sixth in the league and qualifying for the Gulf Champions League, in addition to leading the Qatar national team to victory in the 2023 Asian Cup.
