A child was killed and another injured when a landmine left over from the war exploded in the town of Khirbet Ghazaleh, in Syria’s southern Daraa countryside, the director of health in Daraa said on October 31. Medical teams provided the two children with first aid and treatment, but one died from severe injuries. Syrian army units continue to clear remnants of war and have dismantled and destroyed more than 110,000 explosive devices across the country’s provinces since the start of the year through April.
