International Padel Federation President Luigi Carraro said Doha’s hosting of the 2026 World Cup marks a major milestone in the sport’s development and global reach, praising Qatar’s organisational capabilities and support for padel. The tournament will feature 32 national teams from 20 countries, with prize money totalling €1.2 million—the largest in the sport’s history—shared equally between the men’s and women’s competitions. Carraro noted that the participants are the 256 top-ranked players among more than 40 million people who play the sport worldwide, and urged them to compete in a spirit of sportsmanship.
