Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi inaugurated the Sixth World Conference on International Arbitration on Tuesday. Organized by the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration over two days, the conference is titled “Alternative Dispute Resolution in a Changing World: From Judicial Oversight to Artificial Intelligence.” He said Qatar is working to develop an integrated system for arbitration, mediation and specialized courts, underpinned by legislation including the 2017 Arbitration Law. The system will make use of technology and artificial intelligence to support justice, not replace the role of people. The chairman of Qatar Chamber noted that the center had received 132 cases over the past two years and issued rulings in more than 100 of them, with an average resolution time of around six months.
