Local Market Season Opens
The Ministry of Municipality announced that the 2026–2027 season for local agricultural produce markets will begin tomorrow, Thursday, at the markets in Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Al Wakrah, Al Shamal and Al Shahaniya. The Al Mazroua market welcomes visitors year-round. The markets will be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 240 Qatari farms will take part, selling local produce directly to consumers. Last season, 236 farms participated and sales reached nearly 12,000 tonnes, compared with 24 farms and around 850 tonnes when the initiative launched in 2012–2013.
