The Qatar Football Association announced the cancellation of the friendly match between the Qatari and Saudi national teams, which had been scheduled to take place in Khobar on December 27, in coordination with the Saudi Football Federation. The decision followed the rescheduling of the 2027 Asian Cup to December of that year, rather than January 7 to February 5. The match had been intended to serve as the official opening of Aramco Stadium.
