Gaza's Flooded Tents
Palestinian National Council Speaker Rouhi Fattouh said that flooding of displaced people’s tents and the collapse of some of them in the Gaza Strip because of rain and cold marked a new chapter in the humanitarian catastrophe, amid a lack of shelter and protection. He said a deep low-pressure system began affecting the area on Friday, bringing heavy rain that flooded tents and damaged bedding, blankets and food supplies. He called for urgent international action to provide temporary housing, shelter and heating supplies, and to allow aid in without restrictions.
