Qatar Pledges Support for Middle East Peace
Qatar reaffirmed its readiness to work with the Security Council and international partners to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East through promoting dialogue and mediation. It participated in efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region, including mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, condemning Iranian attacks on some Gulf countries, and calling for respect for freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, Qatar emphasized its non-support for any attempt to impose restrictions on shipping in the strait and commended the role of the Security Council in achieving political solutions, with a focus on the necessity of a final and just resolution to the Palestinian issue.
