Gaza Service Facilities Heavily Damageed
Gaza is facing a severe environmental and health crisis due to the Israeli war, where the destruction of approximately 80% of the infrastructure has led to the collapse of the water and sanitation systems. The per capita water supply has declined to less than 14 liters per day. Additionally, damages to treatment plants and transmission networks have resulted in untreated sewage being discharged into the sea, posing significant threats to public health and the environment. The shortage of fuel and maintenance supplies has caused many water and sanitation facilities to cease operations, leading to the accumulation of millions of cubic meters of waste and increasing the risk of epidemics. There is an urgent need for international support to rebuild and secure basic necessities.
