On Monday dawn, Tripoli, Libya, experienced widespread protests and the closure of roads and public institutions in response to frequent power outages amid a heatwave. The Friday Market movement initiated a civil disobedience campaign, with other areas in the capital joining in, as protesters blocked main roads with burning tires, demanding improvements in electricity services. Hundreds gathered in front of the Libyana Telecommunications and Technology Company headquarters in the Friday Market, holding signs against government policies, in a significant escalation reflecting the deteriorating state of electrical supply in the city.
