Saudi and Oman stress diplomacy for Strait of Hormuz navigation
The Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Oman emphasized the need to strengthen diplomacy to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, as part of efforts to maintain regional security and stability. The two sides stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination in addressing challenges, especially amid United Nations warnings of a humanitarian and human rights crisis due to around 6,000 sailors stranded on 400 ships in the strait. They called for an end to attacks on civilian vessels and for securing evacuation operations and supply deliveries.
