The article discusses Iran's continued strategy of managing regional conflicts through supporting armed militias, rather than engaging in direct confrontation, with the aim of achieving political and military objectives while concealing legal responsibility. These militias operate from Yemen to Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria, destabilizing the region and threatening international security—especially when targeting vital facilities such as energy infrastructure and civilian infrastructure. Saudi Arabia affirms its right to demand that the Iraqi government prevent the use of its territory to launch attacks on neighboring countries, pointing out that state support for militias is directly responsible for such actions. Restoring Iraq’s sovereignty is a matter of national interest before it becomes a regional demand. The article clarifies that deterrence does not mean seeking war but preventing it through possessing military capabilities and diplomatic efforts. It emphasizes that using proxies or foreign territories carries responsibility and consequences for those planning and supporting such attacks, and underscores the importance of holding support sources accountable to prevent the proliferation of weapons outside official institutions.
