Kingdom Embassy affirms citizen safety post-Kumamoto quake
The Kingdom's embassy in Japan reported that Saudi citizens are safe following an earthquake measuring 7.1 magnitude that struck Kumamoto Prefecture in southern Japan, and confirmed that it is continuously monitoring the situation. The embassy advised caution and recommended avoiding coastlines, especially areas along Araiki Sea, due to warnings of potential tsunamis. It also called for adherence to local authorities' instructions and provided a contact number for emergency cases. The earthquake is considered one of the most significant events in the region, which lies at the intersection of four tectonic plates and experiences seismic activity and active volcanoes within Japan.
