US stocks fluctuate ahead of earnings and Fed decision
U.S. stocks experienced mixed performance during Tuesday's trading session, with the Dow Jones index rising by 0.6%, supported by better-than-expected earnings results from companies such as Sherwin-Williams and Coca-Cola. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 remained stable, and the Nasdaq declined by 0.7%. This occurred alongside investor anticipation of the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates, which is expected to remain unchanged, with a potential 0.25% hike forecasted for September. Attention also focused on the sharp decline in oil prices amid talks between Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz. This varied performance reflects a state of uncertainty ahead of the upcoming earnings reports from major tech giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple later this week.
