Visa to cut 7% of workforce
Visa plans to lay off approximately 2,600 employees, representing 7% of its workforce, to boost efficiency and facilitate a transformation in work methodologies aligned with artificial intelligence technologies. The reduction will focus on technology and product teams, following similar strategies implemented by competing companies such as Mastercard and Block, aiming to reallocate investments and enhance financial performance. These measures reflect the industry's trend toward cost reduction and improved efficiency through the adoption of advanced technologies.
