Suhail signals rainy season start in Asir
Suhail is called the star of Sohail in the Asir region at the beginning of the rainy season. It is an astronomical event considered one of the signs of moderate weather and the start of a new planting season. The Sohail season in the area begins on July 29 and lasts for 13 days. It is characterized by frequent rains and fog, and is known as "Ghatat Sohail." In the folk tradition, it is associated with abundant agricultural yields, as seasonal fruits ripen and maize crops enter the formation stage. This season is important for farmers, as it signifies the availability of rain and improved climate conditions. It is observed that Arab cultures' connection to the appearance of Sohail depends on their experience in observing the stars and weather changes, always emphasizing that God is the planner of the universe. The season helps to cool temperatures and boosts agricultural activity and tourism in the region.
